Pied de Poule Houndstooth

Pied de Poule, often referred to as “Houndstooth” in English, has been an international fashion craze since the early 1900’s. Originating in Scotland, Houndstooth quickly made its way to the royalty scene as a favorite of Edward the VII, Prince of Whales.

Designers such as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel were mystified by this simple, yet refined design and created numerous Pied de Poule fashion statements. This timeless design gained traction in the United States after being adopted as a design favorite of famed Movie Starlet, Audrey Hepburn. Hepburn’s love and endorsement of black and white design caused the style’s popularity to skyrocket, and quickly became an iconic American fashion fundamental in the 1960’s.

This stylish monochrome check became an obsession for Roberto Bravo, and inspired the Nine3Five Silver Pied de Poule Collection. The simplistic beauty of this black and white pattern symbolizes harmony and synergy, while gemstones such as Topaz, Citrine, Emerald, Ruby, and Amethyst are added to make this breathtaking design unique and individual. Discover Roberto Bravo’s elegant modern take on a classic fashion favorite.
